Pride / M.I.A.

Every once in a while we all do something we aren't proud of: watching an extra hour of reality television, cutting a line, or side swiping a parked car in a hit and run*. Admitting to these actions is nearly impossible, our shame stems from a special little land called pride. Pride is located on the north shore of the planet Uranus and the weather there is quite tumultous. When pride is in full swing it's easy to be dishonest and even fake. Pride makes us think we can tell the difference between a Monet and a Manet. It makes us think we are too good for a hot dog rolled to perfection at our neighborhood Seven Eleven. Pride even tricks us into thinking we are above catchy verses and well executed music videos. I recently heard that music videos fall right above Court TV on the hierarchy of shame and production but no matter, I'm going to swallow my pride and admit that I've been tuning into M.I.A's latest video.

*Some people do this rountinely.

Electric Guest & Music For All

Every once in a while there is a concert you really want to attend- and no one willing to attend with you.

This is when you should hit the bottle and roll stag like it's a 7th grade sade hawkins dance. Just kidding, you should never attend Sade Hawkins dances.

Music festivals are all the rage for audiophiles and people otherwise trying to fit into trendy tank tops, so here is another this Saturday June, 16: Make Music Pasadena

It's free for all those that like indie pop, psychadellic, modern funk, and the occasional Mexican singer songwriter. There is even a French Chanteuse! Mon Dieu. The band I'm most excited to see is Electric Guest which according to my recent poll of friends, is relatively unknown:

The Grimes:

Soko is also playing:
